FISH FRY WITH SHAN MASALA/ FISH FRY / TAWA FISH FRY

Spicy tawa fish fry recipe made with SHAN masala. This is perfect to serve as a side or with drinks.

Tawa Fish Fry is a delicious, flavoured shallow fried seafood meal made with a few basic spices and cooked on a flat pan.

Which fish is best for fish fry?

Cod is the most popular and first choice that comes to mind for many people when preparing a fish fry. Cod is mild and tender, and the right breading makes for the perfect complement to tartar sauce. Cod is the best option if you like to fish with a bit of crunch. Here i am using king fish for my recipe.

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ kg Fish (I used king fish)
  • 1 tbsp mustard oil (for making paste)
  • Shan fish fry masala
  • 1tsp garlic paste
  • 1tsp ginger paste
  • Oil to fry

HOW TO COOK

Clean fish pieces. Take a bowladd ginger garlic paste SHAN masala (for ½ kg Fish i used 2tbsp of this masala. You don’t need anything add (even salt) if you are using shan masala.

Mix all the ingredients for marination and oil, add very little water and make it into a thick paste.Apply masala all over the fish nicely.
Leave this to marinate for 30 mins.
Heat oil in a pan, place fish over it. Don’t cover the pan, let it cook on a medium low heat for 5 to 6 mins

Now flip over and cook for 5 more mins. The fish is done.Serve with lemon wedges and onion rings.
