Nothing beats home food at the end of the day, if you are craving for simple Home food, Aloo kasoori Methi is a great option.

If you are looking to make something very quick and with very basic ingredients, then this Aloo Kasuri Methi is something you have to try. I always have a big pack of kasoori methi in my pantry.

What is Kasuri / Kasoori Methi?

Kasuri methi / Kasoori methi is dried fenugreek leaves. It is used as a flavoring agent in Indian cooking. Compared to the fresh leaves, the dried ones have very strong flavor and has a very long shelf life. India is the largest producer of fenugreek in the world.

1 tbsp Oil

½ tsp Cumin seeds
1 large Onion

4-5 medium size Potato, peeled, diced

Salt to taste

½ tsp Turmeric powder

¼ tsp red chilli powder

little Water

1 medium size Tomato, chopped

4Green chilli, spicy, chopped

1 cup Fenugreek , soaked

For Garnish

Coriander, धनिया
2 Garlic cloves, chopped, लहसुन

How to cook…

Take a pot/pan add oil to the pot. Once the oil is hot, add the cumin seeds. When the cumin begins to brown, add onions to saute till transparent then add red pepper powder ,turmeric powder,green chillis mix it well for 3 to 4 minutes then add the potatoes and coated it well with the base cover the pot for 5 minutes.Add tomatoes and soaked kasoori methi and 1 cup of water to the pot cover the pot for 10 to 15 minutes. Its ready, garnish with garlic and coriander.

Tips: You can use boiled potatoes and fresh fenugreek leaves with the same recipe it will taste absolutely delicious.
