What is mixed dal made of?

A popular lentil based curry prepared mainly with the 4 different lentil varieties, i.e toor, masoor, chana and moong dal. mix daal fry can be very good alternative compared to the traditional dal fry or dal tadka recipe which is generally prepared just one lentil.

Is mix Dal good for health?

Mix dal is an excellent source of protein for vegetarian people. It has high folate content. Its high fibre presence helps in lowering cholesterol levels. Its intake is very good for digestive health.

INGREDIENTS

1/2cup toor dal
2 tsp oil
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4cup moong dal
1tsp red pepper powder
1/4cup laal masoor dal
1/2 tsp garlic paste
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves chopped
1 tomatoe chopped
1tsp green chili chopped

FOR TADKA
1tbsp oil
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1tsp asafoetida (heeng)
4 garlic Julian
2 green chillies slit

furthermore, i would like to add few tips and variation to this simple mix dal recipe. firstly, the recipe can be easily improvised by altering the quantity of each dal or lentil. i have followed the equal ratio but, can be easily extended as per your choice and preference. secondly, the consistency is very important for any dal recipes

HOW TO COOK

firstly, in a pressure cooker pour ΒΌ cup of each toor dal, moong dal and masoor dal. Add green chillies, Coriander leaves chopped tomatoes garlic paste, turmeric powder, red pepper powder, salt and oil close the lid and cook for 2 whistle on low flame.

Open the pressure cooker and give a nice mix to the dal.

Now for tadka heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds, garlic, and asafoetida, fry it for a couple of minutes then pour it in to the dal and mix nicely. Serve hot.
